Overview
Sail to the North Cape at the top of Europe on an all-inclusive Northern Lights cruise from Oslo. The North Cape Line is our first voyage to visit Norway’s northern and southern capes. Choose to sail from Bergen or, for the first time in our 130-year history, to or from Norway’s vibrant capital, Oslo.
The North Cape sits at the top of Norway and the European continent, marked by dramatic cliffs that tower above the sea. The southern cape is peppered with sites steeped in World War II, Viking, and maritime history. The North Cape Line incorporates several stops new to us in its 16 carefully chosen destinations. At 70°N, you can scan the skies for the aurora in Alta, the City of Northern Lights. In the south, delve into Viking history at Haugesund and cruise the spectacular scenery of Hardangerfjord. We also call in at ports we haven’t seen for many years, such as the traditional fjord-side village of Lødingen.

MS Trollfjord
Sailing both The Svalbard Line and The North Cape Line, MS Trollfjord is an homage both to Norwegian nature and our 130-year heritage sailing the Norwegian coast. Locally sourced natural materials such as wood and stone feature prominently throughout the ship’s furnishings, reflecting the beauty of the fjords we sail through. The style of décor is classic, timeless, and unique in our fleet. You’ll notice details and flourishes that evoke a sense of nostalgia, harking back to a golden era of exclusive small-ship sailing.
Why Hurtigruten?
At Hurtigruten, we give you the opportunity to travel with meaning. Thanks to our coastal expertise, highly skilled crews, and fleet of small, agile ships, we deliver unforgettable experiences that showcase the very best of our homeland.
We are not your normal cruise line
You won’t find waterslides, casinos, or a strict dress code on a Hurtigruten cruise ship. Instead, you’ll enjoy an intimate and easy-going atmosphere, where you can relax, recharge, and take in the beauty of the Norwegian fjords.
Nobody knows the Norwegian coast better
Since our first sailing in 1893, you’ve trusted us to take you to the intimate places of the Norwegian coast; secret fjords, myth-inspiring mountains, hidden hamlets, and majestic waterfalls. We’ve crossed the Arctic Circle under the glow of summer’s Midnight Sun and shown you the Northern Lights at the North Cape, for the first time or the hundredth time.
You're in good hands
While sailing along a Hurtigruten cruise, you will be accompanied by an expert Expedition Team. Using their hands-on experience of Norway, they have one mission: to enhance your voyage by offering engaging insights on the nature, wildlife, and culture you encounter along the way.
We have a Northern Lights Promise
A Hurtigruten cruise is one of the best ways to the aurora borealis. And we're so sure you'll see them during your time on board, that we make you a promise no-one can match. If the Northern Lights do not appear on your voyage of 11 days or more, we will give you another 6- or 7-day Coastal Express trip FREE OF CHARGE.
Our food showcases Norway's finest
On a voyage with us you won’t just see the Norwegian coast; you’ll taste it too. As we sail its length, we pick from its pantry, sourcing the finest homegrown produce from the ports we visit, for you to enjoy in our onboard restaurants.
Our ships are built to enjoy the view
Whether from the comfort of your cabin, in our panoramic observation lounge, or in a hot tub on deck. And with fewer than 500 guests on board, it's easy to find a peaceful spot to soak up the scenery.
We work with on-the-ground experts
We partner with local suppliers to offer you a truly authentic experience with every shore excursion. Each has a wealth of knowledge about their local area, and they’re passionate about sharing their expertise and unique offerings with visitors like you.
We are committed to sustainable travel
Channelling the same pioneering spirit as our first voyage in 1893, we are embarking on a journey to build our first fully zero-emission ship by 2030. We are also working to improve the efficiency of our entire fleet, cutting CO2 emissions by 25% and NOx by 80%.
